&#26126;&#26397;\";\n\tmso-bidi-\"Times New Roman\";}\n.MsoChpDefault\n\t{\"Cambria\",\"serif\";\n\tmso-fareast-\"&#65325;&#65331; &#26126;&#26397;\";\n\tmso-bidi-\"Times New Roman\";}\n@page WordSection1\n\t{size:595.0pt 842.0pt;\n\tmargin:72.0pt 90.0pt 72.0pt 90.0pt;}\ndiv.WordSection1\n\t{page:WordSection1;}\n-->\n]]><\/style>\n<p><span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"460\" vspace=\"10\" hspace=\"3\" height=\"225\" border=\"1\" align=\"middle\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/wolverhampton-employmentscheme-460x225.jpg.png\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>Dozens of residents have signed up to a unique Wolverhampton scheme to help boost their career prospects.<\/span>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>The Park Village Employability Scheme will help residents in the area particularly those who have English as a second language or who are struggling to get into training or employment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>And a successful drop-in session was held to launch the scheme, which will provide a coaching and mentoring programme that will focus on the individual needs of a person to ensure they get the right training or job support they require.<\/span>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>The programme is run by Manjit Cheema and Karen Sahota, from the north East Neighbourhood Services Team, who will provide support and run workshops and courses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>Residents who attended the drop in completed a needs assessment and this will be collated and used to form suitable training packages.<\/span>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council\u2019s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: \u201cI am delighted with the response we have had so far for the Park Village Employability Scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cFrom the feedback we have received, early findings suggest that many barriers are being faced in accessing appropriate support and guidance services to gain employment.<\/span>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThis programme will focus on the needs of each individual and will help build their confidence and motivate them to achieve their goals and find work.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>Sue Lindup, Constituency Manager, North East, Neighbourhood Services Team said: \u201cJobs, skill and training is a priority for residents in the Park Village area and this project will try to address this issue by providing specialist support.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0  <\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>Onkar Singh, who attended the event and has been unemployed for over twelve months, said: \u201cI have found it very difficult to find work but I feel that this scheme will be more appropriate to my needs and give me the guidance and 1-2-1 support that other services do not currently provide\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p><span>If any residents from the Park Village area are interested in joining the programme please contact Karen or Manjit on 01902 556622<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wolverhampton &#8211;
