{"id":5976,"date":"2013-05-11T21:30:18","date_gmt":"2013-05-11T21:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2013\/05\/11\/one-down-two-to-go\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T13:31:53","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T13:31:53","slug":"one-down-two-to-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2013\/05\/11\/one-down-two-to-go\/","title":{"rendered":"One Down Two to Go!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Ain\u2019t no mountain high enough for Kashif Bashir as he aims for triple charity cl<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"middle\" width=\"460\" height=\"265\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/KashifBashir-460x225.jpg\"\/><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong>ONE down, two to go \u2013 that\u2019s the challenge for Huddersfield trekker Kashif Bashir.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The 33-year-old is taking on the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales for charity. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Last month he successfully battled the elements to reach the dizzy heights of Scaffel Pike &#8211; the highest mountain in England. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Kashif, a Community Organiser for Al Amal Ltd Islamic Education and Dawah Institution in Huddersfield, joined 80 other trekkers in raising a phenomenal \u00a310,000 for Islamic Relief\u2019s Africa Water For Life Project. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>And in just a few weeks time he\u2019ll be back climbing as he takes on Mount Snowden in Wales for Ummah Welfare Trust on the 26th May. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cThe Three Peak Challenge is a challenge to conquer one&#8217;s self rather than the three highest mountains in the UK,\u201d Kashif tells The Asian Today. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cIn this day and age we must promote positive images of our communities and be seen doing good.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Kashif is urging keen climbers to join him as he battles Mount Snowdon later this month and Mount Ben Nevis on June 22. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cThe Scaffel Pike climb was epic with around 80 fundraising trekkers doing their bit for the Water For Life project for Islamic Relief for wells in Africa. Now 2500 people will get access to clean water just from the money raised from the first walk.
