{"id":5951,"date":"2012-12-12T11:54:32","date_gmt":"2012-12-12T11:54:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2012\/12\/12\/jeweller-attacked-with-sledgehammer-in-robbery\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T13:31:14","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T13:31:14","slug":"jeweller-attacked-with-sledgehammer-in-robbery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2012\/12\/12\/jeweller-attacked-with-sledgehammer-in-robbery\/","title":{"rendered":"Jeweller attacked with sledgehammer in robbery"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Police appeal for information<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"middle\" width=\"460\" height=\"257\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/DavandJewellersCCTV_460x225.jpg\"\/><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong>A JEWELLER escaped with minor injuries after being struck over the head twice with a sledgehammer by thieves during a daring afternoon robbery.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The four offenders struck at Davand Jewellers on Bearwood Road, Bearwood at round 4:30pm on Saturday 8 December, getting away with tens of thousands of pounds worth of stock.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>They smashed down the front door to the shop and used sledgehammers to break into a glass cabinet in order to gain access to 17 trays of gold.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The thieves were dressed all in black and wore black and orange builders\u2019 gloves.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>During the raid, the 52-year-old shop owner pressed a panic alarm, which prompted the offenders to strike him twice with the hammer.
