{"id":5877,"date":"2012-05-08T17:02:56","date_gmt":"2012-05-08T17:02:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2012\/05\/08\/coventry-teen-draws-up-winning-logo\/"},"modified":"2012-05-08T17:02:56","modified_gmt":"2012-05-08T17:02:56","slug":"coventry-teen-draws-up-winning-logo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2012\/05\/08\/coventry-teen-draws-up-winning-logo\/","title":{"rendered":"Coventry Teen draws up winning Logo"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Munir Khalifa wins Coventry Hospital Radio logo competition<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"middle\" width=\"460\" height=\"250\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/MunirKhalifa_460x225%20.jpg\"\/><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong\/><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><strong>A COVENTRY student has won a competition to design a logo for Coventry Hospital Radio based at University Hospital, Coventry.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Munir Khalifa from Sidney Stringer Academy beat other hopefuls to the prize. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The competition was organised by Neil Wilkes, a schoolteacher and volunteer radio presenter at University Hospital, who wanted to let the children of Coventry take part in the \u2018new look\u2019 station.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Neil first had the idea to involve schoolchildren after hearing about the Workplace Challenge, an initiative to let pupils from the local school complete real projects in a working environment.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Munir, 16, learnt about the competition during a graphics lesson at school and was inspired to take part by his love of music. Munir said: \u201cMy design is quite simple but it combines an image of music and with the heartbeat of the hospital.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Joan Wright, Chairman of Coventry Volunteer Services, said: \u201cYoung people get such bad press these days but it is great to know that youngsters from Coventry are taking an interest in their local hospital and community.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Tara Court of the station said: The logo competition was devised to give young people in Coventry a chance to get involved in their local community radio station.
