{"id":5681,"date":"2011-11-17T13:13:00","date_gmt":"2011-11-17T13:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2011\/11\/17\/fuel-row-airliner-cancels-weekend-india-flights\/"},"modified":"2011-11-17T13:13:00","modified_gmt":"2011-11-17T13:13:00","slug":"fuel-row-airliner-cancels-weekend-india-flights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2011\/11\/17\/fuel-row-airliner-cancels-weekend-india-flights\/","title":{"rendered":"Fuel row airliner cancels weekend India flights"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Birmingham Airport \u2018very concerned\u2019 over Comtel Air situation<\/h3>\n<div><strong>AN AIRLINER which asked passengers to pay for its fuel to continue their journey home has cancelled its weekend flights to India.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Birmingham Airport said it was \u201cvery concerned\u201d about the situation involving Austrian registered Comtel Air. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>It confirmed all planned flights between Birmingham and Amritsar for the coming weekend have been cancelled. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>A number of passengers complained they had been asked to pay up to 150 Euros to continue their journey to Birmingham from Amritsar after the plane was grounded in Vienna. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>One passenger, Reena Rindi, told Channel 4 News: \u201cWe wanted to go home. We\u2019d been stranded for about three to four days.
