{"id":5680,"date":"2011-11-17T15:41:16","date_gmt":"2011-11-17T15:41:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2011\/11\/17\/new-information-in-coventry-murder-anniversary-visit\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T13:24:12","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T13:24:12","slug":"new-information-in-coventry-murder-anniversary-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2011\/11\/17\/new-information-in-coventry-murder-anniversary-visit\/","title":{"rendered":"New information in Coventry murder Anniversary visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Ali Jawaid died after being \u2018viciously attacked\u2019 in van and mobile phone robbery<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"180\" height=\"276\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/AliJawaid_180x232.jpg\"\/>DETECTIVES have spoken to over 100 people in a bid to seek any information following the murder of a Birmingham father.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Police returned to Coventry&#8217;s Sewell Highway last night a week after Ali Jawaid, a father-of-two was viciously attacked and hit over the head with a metal bar outside a mobile phone shop on Wednesday November 9. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Thieves made off with his delivery van as the father of two lay dying on the street. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The 43-year-old, who had been under an induced coma since the attack, died yesterday afternoon after his condition deteriorated rapidly.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Two men, both aged 25, were arrested in connection with the murder; both were subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Three men, aged 22, 24 and 32 were arrested in connection with the robbery. The 22-year-old and the 24-year-old have been bailed pending further enquiries and the 32-year-old was released without charge.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Detective Chief Inspector Matt Markham, leading the investigation said Mr Jawaid\u2019s distraught family had kept a vigil at his bedside since the attack. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;Last night&#8217;s anniversary visit was very useful and has led to a number of lines of enquiry which are currently being investigated,\u201d he said. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;Mr Jawaid was a married father of two young children who was going about his business when he was viciously attacked by a group of men, all for just a few mobile phones.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;His family have suffered terribly over the last week, staying at his bedside praying he would pull through, and sadly he passed away on Tuesday.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;I&#8217;d appeal to anyone who has any information about this tragic incident to contact us immediately.
