{"id":5474,"date":"2011-08-23T17:42:44","date_gmt":"2011-08-23T17:42:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2011\/08\/23\/city-gunman-jailed-for-unprovoked-attack\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T13:08:54","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T13:08:54","slug":"city-gunman-jailed-for-unprovoked-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2011\/08\/23\/city-gunman-jailed-for-unprovoked-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"City Gunman jailed for unprovoked attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Ahmed Saeed Hassan jailed for 25 years<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" alt=\"\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"180\" height=\"275\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/AhmedSaeedHassan_180x232.jpg\"\/>A 30-year-old man who repeatedly shot at a man, in an unprovoked attack, is now behind bars.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Ahmed Saeed Hassan from Perry Barr was convicted for attempted murder and sentenced to 25-years imprisonment at Birmingham Crown Court.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The incident occurred in the Perry Barr area of Birmingham, on the evening of Saturday 15 January this year, when Hassan acting as a lone gunman lay in wait for the victim. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nJust after 7pm the victim was walking along the Broadway when he was approached by a man armed with a handgun who shot without warning three times at close range. One of the bullets passed through the man\u2019s chest and left through his back. Hassan then fled the scene leaving the victim for dead. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nAfter a miraculous recovery the victim was able to pick out the gunman during an identification procedure at his hospital bedside and the defendant, 30-year-old Ahmed\u00a0Saeed Hassan, was subsequently charged. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nTwo particles of gunshot residue found on a jacket linked to Hassan later assisted a jury in finding him guilty of attempted murder. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nOn Monday 22 August 2011, Hassan was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nIn addition, the judge deemed\u00a0Hassan a dangerous offender and as such sentenced him to an indefinite public protection order.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nDC Rory Juss, from force CID, said: \u201cWe are very happy with the sentence Hassan has received.
