{"id":5287,"date":"2011-06-10T12:14:35","date_gmt":"2011-06-10T12:14:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2011\/06\/10\/teenager-jailed-for-pensioner-rape\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T13:01:40","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T13:01:40","slug":"teenager-jailed-for-pensioner-rape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2011\/06\/10\/teenager-jailed-for-pensioner-rape\/","title":{"rendered":"Teenager jailed for pensioner rape"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Farhan Ahmed jailed for \u2018nasty\u2019 attack on \u2018vulnerable\u2019 pensioner<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"180\" height=\"257\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/FarhanAhmed_180x232.jpg\"\/>A TEENAGER has been jailed indefinitely after being found guilty of raping a Nelson pensioner.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Farhan Ahmed, 18, of Park Avenue, Barrowford, was found guilty by a jury at Burnley Crown court.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Ahmed was told he would not be eligible to be considered for parole for five years.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The court was told Ahmed broke into his victim\u2019s home on 28 October 2010 and subjected her to a terrifying sexual assault at knife point.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>A major investigation was launched with specialist officers from across the force taking part in the inquiry. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Detective Superintendent Ian Critchley from the Force Major Investigation Team said, &#8220;This was a nasty, unprovoked attack on a vulnerable and defenceless elderly lady.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;Specially trained officers have worked with the victim right through this case and she has shown exceptional bravery and courage throughout the process. I can&#8217;t imagine just how traumatic and distressing this has been for her.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;I am pleased that members of the community have come forward and given evidence in this case.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;Ahmed now has time in prison to reflect on his wicked actions and the pain and torment he brought on his victim.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, issued a short statement.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>She said: &#8220;I am delighted with the response and care that I have received from the Police and the courts since this ordeal began.
