{"id":5105,"date":"2015-11-23T12:44:07","date_gmt":"2015-11-23T12:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2015\/11\/23\/recreate-wolverhampton-in-lego\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T12:52:11","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T12:52:11","slug":"recreate-wolverhampton-in-lego","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2015\/11\/23\/recreate-wolverhampton-in-lego\/","title":{"rendered":"Recreate Wolverhampton \u2013 in Lego!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Budding builders needed to create amazing models of the city\u2019s buildings<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" height=\"311\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Recreate-Wolverhampton-in-Lego-467x184.jpg\" width=\"447\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Would-be architects are being urged to get building and create amazing models of the city\u2019s buildings \u2013 with the best forming part of a new toy exhibition at Wolverhampton Art Gallery early next year.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The designs could include mini versions of Wolverhampton Civic Hall, Molineux Stadium, St Peter\u2019s Church, the old Low Level Station, the new Sainsbury\u2019s or even the art gallery itself \u2013 in fact any easily recognisable building in and around Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The winning entries will take pride of place in a fascinating new exhibition, Assembled Dreams: A History of Building Toys, which will go on show at Wolverhampton Art Gallery in January.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>There are four categories \u2013 for individuals aged three to 10, individuals aged 11-17 and individuals aged 18 and over, and a category for groups, organisations or clubs.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Models can be built from any recognised toy system such as Lego or Meccano, and must have a footprint of no more than one square metre and be able to be carried through a standard door frame. The deadline for entries is Friday 8 January, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Councillor John Reynolds, the City of Wolverhampton Council\u2019s Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: \u201cThis is all about celebrating the skill and imagination of Wulfrunians.
