Thrill seeker Haroon Mota in 24hr 3 Peak challenge\u2026and he wants YOU to join him!<\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

Seasoned climber Haroon Mota will embark on the National 3 Peaks Challenge next month where he will aim to climb three of the UK\u2019s highest mountains in just 24 hours. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

But he doesn\u2019t want to do the climb alone and wants fellow thrill seekers from the community to join him. All money raised from the climb will go to Islamic Relief\u2019s Orphan General Fund which supports orphans worldwide.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Haroon has already completed the 3 Peaks challenge twice before, but this time he\u2019ll do it racing against the clock. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

In just 24 hours on July 23 Haroon and his team will drive a phenomenal 500 miles in between taking on the UK\u2019s highest mountains – Scotland\u2019s Ben Nevis, England\u2019s Scafell Pike and Snowdon in Wales. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Haroon has already recruited a number of determined climbers from Coventry and Birmingham for the challenge and he wants more to join. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

He told The Asian Today how the lure of charity work has allowed him to trek some of the world\u2019s biggest mountains. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Haroon said: \u201cI have been a volunteer for Islamic Relief for 3 years. Getting involved was quite a coincidence;\u00a0I bumped\u00a0into\u00a0to a group of\u00a0charity trekkers\u00a0on my way down\u00a0Snowdon in the summer of 2007,\u00a0inspiring me to\u00a0get involved\u00a0so I\u00a0combined my passion of mountaineering with my\u00a0eagerness to help the needy. \u201cSince\u00a0then I have come\u00a0a very long way. I have trekked to Mount Everest Basecamp, trekked the Mountains in South America whilst visiting the historic city of Machu Picchu in Peru,\u00a0raised over\u00a0\u00a320,000 and made many new friends.\u201d<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cVolunteering has given me a greater insight in\u00a0to the world of poverty and famine; giving me a greater appreciation of life and all the luxuries that\u00a0god has blessed us with. Unfortunately there are millions out there who are less fortunate than us, many children who have lost their parents, have no family and are left to struggle for survival.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cI have done the 3 Peaks Challenge twice before as well but I am making this climb my own challenge to get other local people from the community to get involved. I want to raise awareness and engage others in rewarding charity work,\u201d Haroon added. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Those joining Haroon in the challenge will be required to raise a minimum of \u00a3750 through fundraising \u2013 but the challenge is well worth it. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Orphans across the world will benefit through Islamic Relief\u2019s Orphan General Fund which helps finance clothing, food, shelter, education and medical care. <\/div>\n
