{"id":4585,"date":"2010-03-19T15:48:26","date_gmt":"2010-03-19T15:48:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2010\/03\/19\/pair-jailed-for-brutal-murder-of-bolton-student\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T12:34:08","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T12:34:08","slug":"pair-jailed-for-brutal-murder-of-bolton-student","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2010\/03\/19\/pair-jailed-for-brutal-murder-of-bolton-student\/","title":{"rendered":"Pair jailed for brutal murder of Bolton student"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Mother\u2019s relief as \u2018cold-blooded\u2019 duo are jailed for son\u2019s murder<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"180\" height=\"256\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/UmairWassem_180x232.jpg\"\/>THE MOTHER of a Bolton student who was brutally murdered has expressed her relief after two men were jailed today for the killing.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Umair Waseem, 22, was found dead at a Lancashire beauty spot in February 2009. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The engineering student, who lived with his mother, sister and brother, was beaten to death with a heavy blunt object. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>A post mortem examination revealed he had suffered extreme head trauma. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Faisal Aslam, 25, and Asim Khan, 27, were today jailed for life at Manchester Crown Court Crown Square for Umair\u2019s brutal murder. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Both men were told they would serve a minimum of 30 years. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Another man, Aroon Asad, 22, was acquitted of murder. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Today Umair\u2019s mother, Foozya, paid tribute to her son as her son\u2019s killers began their life sentences. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201dWe are so relieved to hear the outcome of the trial for the murder of my son,\u201d she said in a statement. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWe miss him so much and the loss of his life in such a tragic and horrific way has left a big hole in our lives, which is impossible to fill.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u201dThe grief and pain that we have gone though is indescribable but we find some solace in the fact that the culprits have been brought to justice.\u201d <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nShe added: \u201cUmair is greatly missed because he was not only my dear son but because he was a wonderful person with a heart of gold. He was loving to all those who were around him. He was kind, respectful and he had a good future ahead of him. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u201dHe didn\u2019t deserve to die in this horrific and terrible manner. He is always in my prayers and may God rest his soul in peace.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"180\" height=\"264\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/UmairWassemKhanAslam_180x232.jpg\"\/>Detectives were unable to establish a motive behind Umair\u2019s death but said there was \u201cevidence he had been dealing drugs.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>They revealed killer Asim Khan brokered a deal to pay Umair \u00a37,000 to withdraw a complaint he made to police after being attacked in Bolton in the months before his murder. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Umair withdrew the complaint, but never received money.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nOn the day of his murder Umair hired a Vauxhall Vectra and was lured to a beauty spot in Anglezarke, near Chorley where he was brutally murdered. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>His ankles and wrists were bound and he was wearing two layers of clothes and disposable gloves. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Traces of Umair\u2019s blood were found in the hired Vectra which was found abandoned in Crumpsall, Manchester. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Following the verdict Detective Inspector Sam Pickering, deputy senior investigating officer said: \u201cThe circumstances of Umair\u2019s death are extremely unusual and he had been the victim of a brutal attack.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u201dWe will never know whether Umair went to that remote spot voluntarily or against his will.
