Lasan is Britain\u2019s Best Local Restaurant"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Birmingham restaurant comes out on top on Gordon Ramsay\u2019s F Word<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"232\" height=\"218\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/LasanFWord_232x180.jpg\"\/>ONE of Birmingham\u2019s most critically acclaimed curry houses has received the golden nod from Gordon Ramsay after winning his F Word contest.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Indian eatery, Lasan, beat off competition from 10,000 restaurants to the crowned Britain\u2019s Best Local Restaurant in Gordon Ramsay&#8217;s F Word contest which aired on Channel 4 on Thursday night. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>And the restaurant, based in the city\u2019s Jewellery Quarter, is now aiming to become the first Michelin-star Indian restaurant in Birmingham.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Head chef Aktar Islam said he was delighted with the award.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cIt\u2019s a massive achievement. It\u2019s hard to describe the emotions I was going through when Ramsay said we had won,\u201d he told the Birmingham Post.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWinning the title is a massive step in raising the profile of Indian cuisine beyond takeaways and Tikka Massalas. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;My menus are designed to challenge perceptions, whilst still retaining authentic and original recipes, and the restaurant aims to be the height of sophistication and fine dining.
