{"id":4345,"date":"2009-12-11T16:35:25","date_gmt":"2009-12-11T16:35:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2009\/12\/11\/duo-jailed-for-city-shooting\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T12:07:10","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T12:07:10","slug":"duo-jailed-for-city-shooting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2009\/12\/11\/duo-jailed-for-city-shooting\/","title":{"rendered":"Duo jailed for city shooting"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Azad Ahmed and Imran Pervez jailed for total of 15 years<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\" width=\"235\" height=\"210\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/AhmedPervez_232x180.jpg\"\/>TWO Birmingham drug dealers have been jailed today for their part in a shooting in the city a year ago.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Azad Ahmed, 27, of Southam Road, Hall Green and Imran Pervez, 19, of Beaconsfield Road, Balsall Heath were sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court following guilty pleas. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>They were jailed for their part in the shooting of a 25-year-old man in Hertford Street, Balsall Heath on 27 December last year. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The victim, who sustained thigh injuries, has since made a full recovery. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Ahmed pleaded guilty to charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm and was jailed for 10 years. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Pervez pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and was imprisoned for five years. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>DC Craig Hall of the CID Serious Crime Team said the convictions sent our strong messages to anyone who risked carrying and using a firearm. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>&#8220;Today&#8217;s sentencing should send a strong and clear message to anyone who thinks it is appropriate to carry and use a weapon.
