{"id":4115,"date":"2009-10-08T17:16:04","date_gmt":"2009-10-08T17:16:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2009\/10\/08\/shopkeeper-fined-1500-over-skin-cream\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T11:42:39","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T11:42:39","slug":"shopkeeper-fined-1500-over-skin-cream","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2009\/10\/08\/shopkeeper-fined-1500-over-skin-cream\/","title":{"rendered":"Shopkeeper fined \u00a31,500 over skin cream"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Warnings over banned ingredient in skin lightening products<\/h3>\n<div><strong>A SHOPKEEPER who was caught selling skin bleaching creams containing a banned chemical linked with health problems has been ordered to pay more than \u00a31,500, following a Manchester City Council prosecution.<\/strong> <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHaider Janjaji, the owner of Openshaw Superstore, pleaded guilty to 11 counts of selling the cream during a hearing at Manchester Magistrates\u2019 Court on 30 September.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHe was fined \u00a3550 along with costs of \u00a31,024 and a \u00a315 victims of crime surcharge. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nA City Council trading standards officer examined the Ashton Old Road store in September 2008 and found jars and bottles of skin lightening cream that listed hydroquinone as an ingredient.
