Man seen in phone kiosk where killer\u2019s call was made<\/h3>\n
\"\"DETECTIVES have released an e-fit image of a man they want to trace in connection with the murder of taxi driver Mohammed Arshad.<\/strong><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The facial image was compiled after a witness came forward to say he had seen the man making a telephone call from a kiosk outside the Spar in Lindsworth Approach, Kings Norton, on the evening of the fatal attack on July 22.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Mr Arshad was found with stab wounds to the head in Wast Hills Lane at about 8.40pm on July 22 and later died from his injuries. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

His taxi was found abandoned about a mile away in Shannon Road a short time later.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Detectives are eager to trace a man calling himself Peter who rang taxi firm A Cars from the kiosk and asked to be picked up from outside Broadmeadow School in Monyhull Hall Road.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Mr Arshad\u2019s blue people carrier taxi collected him at 8.29pm from outside the school gates and that was his last known fare.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Police said the man in the e-fit image was seen in the call box shortly after 8pm.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The witness told police the man in the kiosk had stared at him intently as he walked towards the shop, which was why he had noticed him.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The man is described as slim, around 5ft 8 ins to 5ft 10ins tall, with dark brown or black hair which was closely cropped and brushed forward. He was wearing a dark, long sleeved top and jeans.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Detective Superintendent Sheila Thornes, who is leading the investigation, said: \u201cIt is vital we trace this man and we are hoping that someone will recognise him from the image and contact us now.\u201d<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Police have already released a CCTV image of the man who is believed to have been his last fare that evening and a \u00a310,000 reward is still being offered by West Mercia Police for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Mr Arshad\u2019s killer.<\/div>\n
