{"id":3866,"date":"2009-06-10T16:00:18","date_gmt":"2009-06-10T16:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2009\/06\/10\/life-sentence-for-sex-monster-killer\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T11:36:30","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T11:36:30","slug":"life-sentence-for-sex-monster-killer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2009\/06\/10\/life-sentence-for-sex-monster-killer\/","title":{"rendered":"Life sentence for \u2018sex monster\u2019 killer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Mohammed Ali caged for murdering sisters<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"266\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"180\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/MohammedAli_180x232.jpg\"\/>A MAN who stabbed his former girlfriend and her sister to death in a &#8220;brutal and depraved&#8221; attack was jailed for life today.<\/strong><br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nMohammed Ali, 29, killed Yasmine and Sabrina Larbi-Cherif whose partially-clothed bodies were found at their flat in Ladywood, Birmingham last September.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHe was told he would spend a minimum of 34 years in jail when he was sentenced at the Royal Courts of Justice in London today.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nAli, of Old Snow Hill, Birmingham, was not in court but the mother and three brothers of the murdered sisters sat in the public gallery as the judge passed sentence.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nYasmine, 22, and Sabrina, 19, moved to the UK from Algeria with their parents and three brothers in 1998.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nAli was captured on CCTV leaving the sisters flat in Ryland Street with a plastic bag thought to contain his bloodstained clothes.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHe was arrested two days later at a ferry terminal in Dover, Kent, attempting to flee the country for France.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nA jury took just three hours and 20 minutes to convict Ali of both murders.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nDet Chief Supt David Mirfield, of West Midlands Police, said he was pleased with the sentence.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHe said: &#8220;Yasmine and Sabrina were young, beautiful and clever girls who had their whole lives ahead of them.<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"276\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"180\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/YasminandSabrinalarbi-cherif_180x232.jpg\"\/>&#8220;They were brutally murdered in their own home by someone that they had trusted.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n&#8220;No prison sentence will bring back the beautiful daughters and sisters that the Larbi-Cherif family lost on that terrible day in September.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n&#8220;Yasmine and Sabrina\u2019s family have had to endure listening to horrific detail surrounding their murders. At no point has Ali shown any remorse or sorrow.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n&#8220;Today\u2019s sentence brings to a close the months of investigation and hard work to ensure that Ali was brought to justice.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>And he added: \u201cMost of all I would like to pay my personal respects to the family of Yasmine and Sabrina.
