{"id":3861,"date":"2009-05-21T16:49:55","date_gmt":"2009-05-21T16:49:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2009\/05\/21\/fury-over-bnp-leaders-buckingham-palace-invite\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T11:36:24","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T11:36:24","slug":"fury-over-bnp-leaders-buckingham-palace-invite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2009\/05\/21\/fury-over-bnp-leaders-buckingham-palace-invite\/","title":{"rendered":"Fury over BNP Leaders Buckingham Palace \u2018invite\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Bid to block Nick Griffin from Queen\u2019s annual showpiece<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"289\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"180\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/ClaudeMoraes_180x232.jpg\"\/>ANTI-Racism campaigners have reacted with fury after it emerged BNP leader has been invited to theBuckingham Palace garden party.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Nick Griffin is expected to accompany Richard Barnbrook, a BNP member of the London Assembly, to the event on 21 July.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>While all members of the Assembly have been invited to the event, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson stressed the Queen is not consulted on the guest list, and that as yet no official invitations had been sent to prospective guests. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Today London Lord Mayor hit out at the invite calling on Mr Barnbrook to bring an alternative guest or \u201cconsider his invitation rescinded.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>His criticism of the BNP member was shared by Labour MEP Claude Moraes who accused MrBarnbrook\u2019s move as a \u201ccynical stunt\u201d to further the party\u2019s political agenda ahead of the June 6 European Elections where Nick Griffin is hoping to triumph. \u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Mr Moraes, who is also Chair of the European Parliament\u2019s All-Party Anti-Racism Group, said:<strong> \u201c<\/strong>For Richard Barnbrook to invite the leading BNP candidate in an election which is only days away, is a cynical move to hijack a non-party political event. It potentially comprises the Royal Family.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cThe BNP are determined to show that they are a mainstream political party like other UK parties. The fact is they support policies such as voluntary repatriation of non-whites.
