{"id":3860,"date":"2009-05-20T15:25:51","date_gmt":"2009-05-20T15:25:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2009\/05\/20\/reward-in-hunt-for-gurdwara-arsonists\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T11:36:23","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T11:36:23","slug":"reward-in-hunt-for-gurdwara-arsonists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2009\/05\/20\/reward-in-hunt-for-gurdwara-arsonists\/","title":{"rendered":"Reward in hunt for Gurdwara arsonists"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>\u00a350,000 reward offered by Sikh community <\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"215\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"232\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/GurdwaraSikhSangat_232x180.jpg\"\/>MEMBERS of a London Gurdwara that was gutted in a suspected arson attack have offered a substantial reward to help find the culprits.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The ferocious fire at the Gurdwara Sikh Sangat in Harley Grove, Bow, on 16 March swept through the building, destroying several holy Sikh scriptures. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Management at the Gurdwara said they were devastated at the attack and have offered a \u00a350,000 reward.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Ten fire engines and around 50 firefighters tackled the blaze at the popular Gurdwara. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Members of the Gurdwara said an intruder was confronted on the premises shortly before the blaze took hold in a room where holy Sikh scriptures, the Guru Granth <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Sahib Ji\u2019s\u2019 were kept. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>They are hoping the reward will help police apprehend the arsonist. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cSince the incident the police with our full cooperation have been conducting their investigation, but unfortunately they have failed to apprehend the intruder,\u201d a statement released by the Gurdwara said. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cThis is of great concern to the Management Committee, our Members of the Gurdwara and the whole Sikh Community.
