Takeaway giant could extend trial nationwide<\/h3>\n
TAKEAWAY giant KFC have announced plans to trial a Halal-only menu at a number of stores across London.<\/strong> <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The fast food takeout said the move was made following a number of requests from British Muslims. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Muslim customers in London\u2019s Hounslow, Forest Gate and Bethnal Green areas will be among some sampling the taste of KFC for the first time. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The restaurants will also feature the HFA – Halal Food Authority – \u00a0logo on the door, while all bacon products will be removed from the menu, the company said. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

The move, which was aided by the Halal Food Authority, could be extended to other parts of the country if the trials prove successful. <\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

KFC vice-president of marketing Jennelle Tilling says: \u201cWe want to see how customers respond to the trial, to see if this is something that allows us to make our great tasting food available to a broader range of customers.\u201d<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Halal Food Authority president Masood Khawaja says it has worked closely with KFC \u201cto accredit the usage of the HFA logo and symbol of approval on endorsed products\u201d.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

KFC is the latest big name fast food retailer to provide halal-only menus for Muslim customers. Last year pizza giant Domino\u2019s opened its first halal-only store in Birmingham\u2019s Hall Green area. <\/div>\n
