{"id":3799,"date":"2009-05-05T13:02:03","date_gmt":"2009-05-05T13:02:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2009\/05\/05\/mothers-tears-over-killed-son\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T11:34:44","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T11:34:44","slug":"mothers-tears-over-killed-son","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2009\/05\/05\/mothers-tears-over-killed-son\/","title":{"rendered":"Mother\u2019s tears over Killed son"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3> \u201cMy world has been destroyed\u201d &#8211; Mother of murder victim pays tribute to her son<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"268\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"180\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/UmairWaseem_180x232.jpg\"\/>THE mother of a Bolton man who was found dead in Lancashire has made an emotional appeal to help find her son\u2019s killer.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The body of 22-year-old Umair Waseem was found in a car park off Moor Road, Anglezarke, near Chorley on Monday 2 February.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>When his body was discovered, police revealed Umair&#8217;s ankles and wrists has been bound with duct tape. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>He had severe head injuries and had been subjected to an extremely violent attack, police said. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>A post mortem revealed he died from severe head trauma.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Umair, who was an engineering student at Bolton University, lived with his mother, sister and brother. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>His distraught mother said her family were still trying to come to terms with his horrific murder.\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>She added her son\u2019s death had \u201cdestroyed [her] whole world\u201d.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWe are an honest family. I&#8217;ve worked hard raising my children,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201dWhoever has done this has ripped my family apart and destroyed my whole world. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201dUmair was a fun-loving, normal lad who was enjoying university and was an A+ student. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cI am and will always be proud of him and love him very much.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201dI&#8217;m appealing to anyone who has any information to please come forward and speak to the police to help them catch my son&#8217;s killer. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cI do not want this to happen to any other family.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Detectives are still trying to trace Umair\u2019s last movements. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>He was last seen driving around Bolton in a Silver BMW 7 Series car on Sunday 1 February. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Police believe he then hired a car, a black Vauxhall Vectra which was later driven away from the Deane Road area of Bolton by an unidentified man. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Umair remained in the BMW, which police later found parked close to where his body was found.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The Vauxhall Vectra was later found abandoned in Crumpsall.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Detectives from Lancashire are working jointly with officers from Greater Manchester. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Detective Superintendent Jane Antrobus, who is leading the investigation, said detectives were working flat out to find Umair\u2019s killers. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>He said: &#8220;It is clear Umair\u2019s death has left his family and friends devastated.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201dWe\u2019re doing all we can to find who murdered Umair, but we still need more information.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Two men, aged 20 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of murder and have been bailed until 9 June pending further inquiries.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cMy world has been destroyed\u201d &#8211; Mother of murder victim pays tribute to her son THE mother of a Bolton man who was found dead in Lancashire has made an emotional appeal to help find her son\u2019s killer. &#13; The body of 22-year-old Umair Waseem was found in a car park off Moor Road, Anglezarke, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":11753,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3799","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3799","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3799"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3799\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/11753"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3799"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3799"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3799"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
