{"id":3589,"date":"2009-01-12T15:25:18","date_gmt":"2009-01-12T15:25:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2009\/01\/12\/hospital-dedication-to-multi-faith-birmingham\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T11:29:41","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T11:29:41","slug":"hospital-dedication-to-multi-faith-birmingham","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2009\/01\/12\/hospital-dedication-to-multi-faith-birmingham\/","title":{"rendered":"Hospital dedication to multi-faith Birmingham"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3>Stained glass window celebrates city\u2019s diversity<\/h3>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"223\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"232\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/DedicationGlassStainedWindow_232x180.jpg\"\/>A CEREMONY to dedicate a stained glass window at Heartlands Hospital faith centre was held last month, celebrating the different faiths and religions in Birmingham.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The specially commissioned window, named The Creation, is located in the centre of the hospital, acting as an area for prayer and reflection.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The dedication ceremony was led by Rt. Rev Andrew Watson, Bishop of Aston and included readings from the scriptures of six different faith traditions, including, Christianity, Islam, Hindu and Buddhist.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The Creation cost more than \u00a320,000 and was funded through donations from Birmingham Airport, the Trusts Chairman, Clive Wilkinson, and friends and family\u2019s of past patients.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The stained glass window was designed and crafted by local stained and fused glass artist, Anita Pate.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Rt. Rev Andrew Watson, Bishop of Aston, said: \u201cI was truly honoured and blessed when asked to conduct the official opening of the stained glass window and it was wonderful to see multi-faith communities come together to celebrate such a special occasion.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Rev. Andrew Ball, joint head of Heartlands chaplaincy, said: \u201cThe window signifies the coming together of all faiths, which is what our chaplaincy is all about.\u00a0 It is now a unique part of our chaplaincy and we would like to say a big thank you to all who have donated.
