{"id":3325,"date":"2008-07-11T15:47:22","date_gmt":"2008-07-11T15:47:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2008\/07\/11\/fiancee-of-would-be-bomber-jailed\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T11:09:57","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T11:09:57","slug":"fiancee-of-would-be-bomber-jailed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2008\/07\/11\/fiancee-of-would-be-bomber-jailed\/","title":{"rendered":"Fiancee of would-be-bomber jailed"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\"><b>Woman aided 21\/7 bomber\u2019s burka escape<\/b><\/p>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"220\" alt=\"\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"232\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/YasinOmar_232x180.jpg\"\/>THE FIANCEE of failed July 21 bomber Yassin Omar has been jailed for three years today after she admitted providing him with her mother\u2019s burka to help his audacious escape from police.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Fardosa Abdullahi, who was 18 at the time of the failed attacks, admitted helping her fiancee of four days flee London in her mother\u2019s burka a day after the attacks in 2005.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>She pleaded guilty to the offence at an Old Bailey hearing last month but the details could not be deported until today. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>A plea to have her sentence reduced because she was now pregnant and vulnerable at the time of the offence was rejected by Judge Paul Worsley.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>He said: \u201cThe message must go out that this court will not go soft on those who assist terrorists, even those who are young, vulnerable and under pressure, as you undoubtedly were.\u201d <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The Old Bailey was shown CCTV footage of Omar at Birmingham\u2019s Digbeth coach station wearing the burka and carrying a white handbag. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>He was arrested in the city five days later by armed police and later jailed for life.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The judge said that Abdullahi, who is 24 weeks pregnant, had \u201cas strong a mitigation as is likely in a case such as this\u201d. But he added: \u201cThe events of 21\/7 followed only two weeks after the carnage of 7\/7.
