{"id":3323,"date":"2008-07-10T16:07:01","date_gmt":"2008-07-10T16:07:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2008\/07\/10\/city-officer-wins-praise-from-pakistani-community\/"},"modified":"2016-01-07T11:09:54","modified_gmt":"2016-01-07T11:09:54","slug":"city-officer-wins-praise-from-pakistani-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2008\/07\/10\/city-officer-wins-praise-from-pakistani-community\/","title":{"rendered":"City officer wins praise from Pakistani community"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\"><b>Surprise award for Mohammed Hanif<\/b><\/p>\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"232\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"232\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/theasiantoday.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/InspMohammedHanif_232x180.jpg\"\/>AN officer from West Midlands Police has received a prestigious award for his work with Birmingham\u2019s Pakistani community. <br \/><\/strong>Temporary Chief Inspector Mohammed Hanif was presented with the surprise award at a public meeting by the Pakistani Community Development Network (PCDN) in recognition of his contribution to the city\u2019s Pakistani residents.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe meeting was attended by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Chauhdry Abdul Rashid, Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hyde, prominent community members, police officials from Pakistan and the UK and business leaders from both countries. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nT\/Chief Insp Hanif, who has 16 years police service, is currently seconded to the National Association of Muslim Police as its national co-ordinator.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHe is involved in community work in his spare time and is a familiar face among many communities, both local and national. As part of his work in Lozells and East Handsworth he developed and nurtured many partnerships between agencies to deliver an excellent and effective service to local people. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHe also contributed towards restoring normality during the disorders in Lozells through impressive and wide-ranging community engagement and leadership. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nT\/Chief Insp Hanif said: \u201cIt was a complete shock for me as I was not aware I would receive such an award. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u201cI am proud and honoured, and at the same time humbled that the community of Birmingham has recognised my contributions, not only as an active community member but also as an employee of West Midlands Police. It\u2019s moments like this you realise communities recognise the work you are doing to make a difference.\u201d<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nACC Hyde said: \u201cI would like to add my congratulations to T\/Chief Insp Hanif for this excellent piece of work.
