{"id":3096,"date":"2008-03-04T14:26:24","date_gmt":"2008-03-04T14:26:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2008\/03\/04\/police-event-to-promote-safety-for-female-students\/"},"modified":"2016-01-06T17:32:44","modified_gmt":"2016-01-06T17:32:44","slug":"police-event-to-promote-safety-for-female-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2008\/03\/04\/police-event-to-promote-safety-for-female-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Police event to promote safety for female students"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<div><strong>LEICESTERSHIRE Constabulary is joining forces with De Montfort University for an event to promote safety to female students.<br \/><\/strong>A \u2018Violence Against Women&#8217; event is being held at the university this Thursday between 6pm and 9pm. <br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe evening will include talks by officers from Leicestershire Constabulary in relation to domestic violence and the Force&#8217;s Solace Unit &#8211; a department dedicated to supporting female and male victims of rape and serious sexual assault. Presentations will also be given by the Crown Prosecution Service and the Derby-based charity Karma Nirvana, a project which specialises in giving support to Asian men and woman caught up in forced marriages and honour-based violence.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThe event has been organised by PC Gail Warden, the dedicated neighbourhood officer for the De Montfort University campus. PC Warden said: &#8220;I am delighted that this event is being so well supported, not only by my colleagues in Leicestershire Constabulary, but also by the Crown Prosecution Service and the charity Karma Nirvana.
