{"id":29987,"date":"2019-08-22T19:23:06","date_gmt":"2019-08-22T18:23:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=29987"},"modified":"2019-08-22T19:23:06","modified_gmt":"2019-08-22T18:23:06","slug":"our-columnist-named-professor-in-entrepreneurship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2019\/08\/22\/our-columnist-named-professor-in-entrepreneurship\/","title":{"rendered":"Our columnist named Professor in Entrepreneurship"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\">On 14th August Birmingham City University Business School announced that Paul Cadman, regional business leader and charity ambassador would become their Visiting Professor in Entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Cadman responded to the award by saying, &#8220;I am both humbled by and proud of this title. I always struggles with my education at school because of my then undiagnosed dyslexia. Although I have always been an entrepreneur \u00a0I have wanted to show to everyone that no matter how humble your beginnings, education will always be an important step in your success.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cadman, who spent his early years in Birmingham Market where he says he honed \u00a0his networking skills and went on to have a successful career in the fire service and then onto senior leadership in international brands and the automotive industry, manufacturing and Skills. He currently has senior trustee and ambassadorial, Patron roles for Acorns Hospice, Employability WASUP \u2018World against single use plastic\u2019 and Steps to Work, some of the region&#8217;s leading charities. While sitting on a number of company boards and running a range of small ventures in automotives, design and consultancy. Cadman claims that \u201cBCU for me reflects the city and region that I love. It is truly the a university for Birmingham.\u201d<\/p><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Paul is a regular contributor to The Asian Today newspaper with his business knowledge, sharing his opinion and advice with the readership.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Paul has also been a judge &amp; ambassador for some of the regions key events such as the Birmingham Awards &amp; the Midlands Food Drink &amp; Hospitality Awards.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Paul went on to say, &#8220;I would personally like to thank Nassim Belbaly and regional stalwart Julian Beer in supporting me in being awarded this title. I look forward to working closely with colleagues from the Birmingham City Business School and my friend Raaj Shamji from the Research, Innovation and Enterprise team. His final comment \u201cThe West Midlands&#8217; entrepreneurial performance outguns most of the world and I will use my role to ensure this remains so going forward.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Professor Julian Beer, deputy vice chancellor at Birmingham City University, said: &#8220;Paul has been working with us for some time now on a number of initiatives and our staff and students have really valued his contribution and his entrepreneurial flair.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>&#8220;He brings with him not just that but, a wealth of experience and expertise which he imparts with vigour. \u00a0It\u2019s very well deserved.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 14th August Birmingham City University Business School announced that Paul Cadman, regional business leader and charity ambassador would become their Visiting Professor in Entrepreneurship.
