The ex-miner and his wife had lived at the address for around 20 years, it is believed.<\/p>\n
Following the incident, one stunned neighbour said: \u201cThis is shocking news.\u00a0It is a nice neighbourhood\u00a0and for this to happen, it is shocking.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe never really saw Dennis much. I think he had a son.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another told reporters: \u201cYesterday lunchtime a forensics van pulled up. We never saw much of him, he was quite a quiet chap.<\/p>\n
\u201cLike any pensioners they would go shopping once a week, get the car out of the garage and come back.<\/p>\n
\u201cOther than that they rarely left the house.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cPolice were outside the house for three days and nights and\u00a0CID were knocking on\u00a0every door,\u201d added a nearby resident.<\/p>\n
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: \u201cAn 80-year-old Cannock woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of her husband.<\/p>\n
