{"id":29069,"date":"2019-05-02T12:11:41","date_gmt":"2019-05-02T11:11:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=29069"},"modified":"2019-05-02T13:09:04","modified_gmt":"2019-05-02T12:09:04","slug":"man-shot-in-balsall-heath","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2019\/05\/02\/man-shot-in-balsall-heath\/","title":{"rendered":"Man shot in Balsall Heath"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being shot in the face.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting happened at a home in Balsall Heath area of Birmingham at about 9:30pm on Tuesday, West Midlands police have said.<\/p>\n<p>Police and medics were called to the property in Edgbaston Road where they found the injured 21-year-old man in cardiac arrest, with life- threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The man was rushed to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He remains in a critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>A police cordon is still in place at the scene and forensic examinations are continuing to try and piece together what exactly happened that night.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives have spoken to witnesses and have been going around the neighborhood collecting CCTV evidence and speaking to residents.<\/p>\n<p>A police spokesman said: &#8220;The investigation is at an early stage and officers are keeping an open mind regarding the circumstances and motive for the incident.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being shot in the face.
