{"id":28917,"date":"2019-04-15T16:25:27","date_gmt":"2019-04-15T15:25:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=28917"},"modified":"2019-04-15T16:25:27","modified_gmt":"2019-04-15T15:25:27","slug":"black-bags-dumped-on-streets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2019\/04\/15\/black-bags-dumped-on-streets\/","title":{"rendered":"Black Bags Dumped on Streets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The streets of Birmingham are piling up with rubbish and fly-tipped waste.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mattresses, fridge-freezers, cardboard boxes, old sofas and countless rubbish bags are being dumped.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0Alum Rock, mounds of fly-tipped waste has been dumped on roads in and around Cherrywood Road.<\/p>\n<p>After the Birmingham bins strike ended, a dispute which had seen bags piling up on the street, people are still filling the streets with rubbish.<\/p>\n<p>City council bosses approved settlements worth \u00a33,500 each to striking workers in order to end the &#8216;secret payments&#8217; dispute.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for the Alum Rock Community Forum highlighted the rubbish piles and branded the local area &#8220;a huge tip site&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sunday drive around Alum Rock, the area is a huge tip everywhere you look,&#8221; said a spokesman.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Many more hot spots created by scum fly-tippers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Cherrywood Road and linking roads area a huge tip site, also rubbish everywhere. What is going on?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A Twitter user said: &#8220;Used toilets Cherrywood Road B9 4UR, just off Fordrough Lane B9 5LE, flung into the street.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The area is a disgrace with mattresses &amp; abandoned vehicles everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Kids live in nearby properties thus are in constant danger from fly-tipping.
