{"id":28914,"date":"2019-04-15T16:04:07","date_gmt":"2019-04-15T15:04:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=28914"},"modified":"2019-04-15T16:04:07","modified_gmt":"2019-04-15T15:04:07","slug":"drive-by-shooting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2019\/04\/15\/drive-by-shooting\/","title":{"rendered":"Drive-By Shooting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Detectives are investigating after a teenager was shot as he sat in a car on a city street.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The victim was in the passenger seat of a silver\u00a0Ford Mondeo\u00a0on Pretoria Road,\u00a0Bordesley Green\u00a0when he was fired at on the evening of Saturday 13 April.<\/p>\n<p>A car pulled up alongside and fired a gun\u00a0into the Mondeo, shattering the driver&#8217;s side window.<\/p>\n<p>It is not known if there was anyone else in the vehicle at the time of the shooting, which took place at 8.25pm.<\/p>\n<p>The 19-year-old victim didn&#8217;t call\u00a0999\u00a0but instead took himself to hospital.<\/p>\n<p>He is being treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder, which is not thought to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed armed cops swooped to the scene after the shooting.<\/p>\n<p>West Midlands Police\u00a0confirmed on Monday that no arrests had been made and enquiries were continuing.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from the force: &#8220;Police are investigating after a man was injured when shots were fired from a car in Birmingham at 8.25pm last night (13 April).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Officers were called to Pretoria Road in Bordesley Green, after a silver Ford Mondeo car was fired at by the occupant of another car, causing damage to the windows and injuring a passenger.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The 19-year-old man attended hospital and remains there today being treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
