Throughout April and May, Birmingham St Mary\u2019s Hospice will be bringing six \u2018pop-up\u2019 displays of wrought iron forget-me-not flowers to locations throughout the city during its 40th<\/sup>anniversary year. <\/em><\/p>\n

A local hospice\u2019s Forget Me Not display will be blooming across the city this spring, to celebrate the lives of loved ones.<\/p>\n

Birmingham St Mary\u2019s Hospice\u2019s Forget Me Not appeal is a unique way to remember and celebrate the lives of those who are no longer with us, by dedicating a stunning wrought-iron flower in their memory.<\/p>\n

\"\"This year, the Hospice\u2019s iconic blooms will be touring Birmingham, to commemorate the charity\u2019s milestone anniversary, and to follow the routes nurses travel around the city providing care in people\u2019s homes and in their communities.<\/p>\n

As the tour is now in full swing, the next tour will \u2018pop\u2019 up at St Phillips Place in Colmore Row on Monday 15 April where visitors will be greeted by a host of \u2018Pearce Pink\u2019 forget-me-nots \u2013 named after the Hospice\u2019s founder, Monica Pearce.<\/p>\n

The display will then move to Bournville Green on Thursday 25 April and All Saints Square in Kings Heath on Friday 26 April, before settling in Northfield Shopping Centre on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 May.<\/p>\n

As well as the pink creations, people will also be able to buy limited edition, 40th<\/sup>anniversary copper flowers online, which comes with a piece of parchment so people can write a lasting message to their special someone and store it safely within the flower.<\/p>\n

Lucy Watkins, head of fundraising at Birmingham St Mary\u2019s Hospice, said: \u201cFor the first time ever, we\u2019re delighted to bring our annual Forget Me Not appeal into the heart of the communities where we provide our care and support every day.<\/p>\n

\u201c2019 is an extra special year for the Hospice, as it marks 40 years since we opened our doors and cared for our first patient on Monday 5 March 1979. To celebrate four decades of care, we have two striking flowers for people to purchase, which will create a beautiful lasting tribute to their loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n

All funds raised from the Forget Me Not appeal will enable to the Hospice to continue to care for local people and their loved ones who are living with life-limiting illness.<\/p>\n

Last year, the Forget Me Not campaign raised over \u00a320k for the charity, which could help 400 people across Birmingham and Sandwell receive the expert care and support they need today.<\/p>\n

It costs \u00a38 million to run the Hospice each year \u2013 over 60 per cent of which must come from voluntary funding \u2013 so it really does rely on the generosity of local people to fund its crucial services.<\/p>\n
