A man was stabbed after trouble flared at a city centre nightspot in Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n
Police cordoned off Skinner Street in the early hours of Sunday morning after a huge fight occurred, which is believed to have happened at Fixxion Nightclub.<\/p>\n
West Midlands Police described the fight as ‘large scale disorder’.<\/p>\n
A man, aged in his 30s, suffered a stab wound to his torso during the incident, which happened at around 3am.<\/p>\n
His injuries are not believed to be serious but he was taken to hospital as a precaution.<\/p>\n
Police officers tweeted footage showing Skinner Street closed off as an investigation was launched.<\/p>\n
The road was closed at the School Street junction.<\/p>\n
Nearby Gorgeous Nightclub posted on its Facebook page saying the incident had happened at another venue.<\/p>\n
The statement said: “Due to an apparent incident at a nearby venue management at Gorgeous took the decision to stop entry earlier than normal.<\/p>\n
“The safety of customers is our highest priority.<\/p>\n
“We are obviously as disappointed as you that our night was spoiled, but we hope you understand.”<\/p>\n
