The crash took place around 7.40 am near to the junction with Netherhall Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Upon assessment ambulance staff found he was in a serious condition and required advanced trauma care at the roadside before being conveyed by land ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care; the doctor travelled with the ambulance crew to continue treatment en route.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A West Midlands Police spokesman said: \u201cThe cyclist was taken to hospital with life-threating injuries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Traffic queues formed around the island outside Asda&#8217;s Queslett store in the aftermath.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A cyclist was taken to hospital with \u2018life threatening injuries\u2019 after a crash with a car.
