{"id":28051,"date":"2019-01-14T11:14:05","date_gmt":"2019-01-14T11:14:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=28051"},"modified":"2019-01-14T11:14:07","modified_gmt":"2019-01-14T11:14:07","slug":"swimsuit-outrage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2019\/01\/14\/swimsuit-outrage\/","title":{"rendered":"Swimsuit Outrage"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hindus are outraged and urging London based fashion label \u201cSera Ulger\u201d (SULDN) for immediate withdrawal of swimsuit carrying the image of Hindu goddess Durga calling it inappropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Universal Society of Hinduism has said that goddess Durga\nwas highly revered in Hinduism and was meant to be worshipped in temples or\nhome shrines and not to adorn one\u2019s buttocks and crotch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society\nof Hinduism, also urged SULDN to offer a formal apology, besides withdrawing\ngoddess Durga swimsuit, named as \u201cGoddess Sherwali Swimsuit\u201d and priced at \u00a395.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHinduism is the third largest religion of the world with about\n1.1 billion adherents and a rich philosophical thought and it should not be\ntaken frivolously. Symbols of any faith, larger or smaller, should not be\nmishandled,\u201d Rajan Zed added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 2013 and based in the heart of East London, Dalston;\nSULDN is reportedly the fashion label set up by Print Designer Sera Ulger.\n\u201cInjecting the world with colour&#8230;\u201d as its tagline, SULDN claims to enable \u201ca\nunique attitude for the sassy girl we design for\u201d.
