They are thought to\nbe more discreet than the speed-tracking cameras that are being used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Motorists pictured\neating or smoking behind the wheel, or using their mobile phone, will be punished\nwith a \u00a3200 fine and receive six penalty points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, it is not\nillegal to eat or smoke while you are driving but can distract a motorist from\nconcentrating on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The yellow vulture\nspeed cameras face oncoming traffic, and an LED box system is positioned 20\nyards before them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cameras have power\nand capability to catch drivers come day or night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The high-definition technology\nwill also pick up if you’re not wearing a seatblet, and if you are eating or\ndrinking at the wheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But it’s not just\nspeeding that the cameras are watching out for now – so take note.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These cameras, which\nare part of the new Safety Camera Partnership, have started to appear on the\nstreets on Plymouth already, with more expected to follow around the country in\nthe near future,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several police\nforces nationwide have indicated that drivers can expect far less leeway, as\ncameras become more accurate – and the law states that a driver can receive a\nticket as soon as they have exceeded the limit, even if it is only by 1mph.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
