Has made it on to the final shortlist, Rachel Maclean, MP for Redditch, has vowed to support the second city\u2019s bid due to the benefits it will bring to Redditch and West Midlands.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"article-first-paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #212529;\">On Monday Channel 4 publicised the three contenders to be the site of its new national headquarters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"article-first-paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #212529;\">Birmingham is competing against Greater Manchester, and Leeds, in the bid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"article-first-paragraph\" style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #212529;\">The West Midlands Combined Authority, of which Redditch Borough Council is a non-constituent member, is directed by the Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #212529;\">A decision on the site of Channel 4\u2019s new base is expected in October.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 1rem; font-variant-caps: normal; font-stretch: inherit; line-height: inherit; orphans: auto; widows: auto; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; word-spacing: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #212529;\">Mrs Maclean said: \u201cI completely agree with Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands, when he says the whole region needs to get behind the second city&#8217;s bid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 1rem; font-variant-caps: normal; font-stretch: inherit; line-height: inherit; orphans: auto; widows: auto; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; word-spacing: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #212529;\">&#8220;I&#8217;ll be doing what I can to support Birmingham&#8217;s bid as I truly believe Channel 4 basing themselves in our region will bring benefits to Redditch.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 1rem; font-variant-caps: normal; font-stretch: inherit; line-height: inherit; orphans: auto; widows: auto; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; word-spacing: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #212529;\">She added: \u201cHaving Channel 4 in Birmingham will create hundreds of high-skilled and high-paid jobs for people in Redditch.
