{"id":26501,"date":"2018-05-18T16:29:50","date_gmt":"2018-05-18T15:29:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=26501"},"modified":"2018-05-18T16:29:50","modified_gmt":"2018-05-18T15:29:50","slug":"cloud-nine-shisha-lounge-shut-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2018\/05\/18\/cloud-nine-shisha-lounge-shut-down\/","title":{"rendered":"Cloud Nine Shisha Lounge Shut Down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">City centre Shisha lounge has temporarily been shut down by the police after customers were suspected to have been taking \u2018psychoactive substances.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">A closure notice was served on the Cloud Nine Shisha Lounge, on Gooch Street North, on May 9, after illegal substances were allegedly being consumed on the premises.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Birmingham Magistrates Court has granted to extend the closure period on May 10 and a final hearing is scheduled to decide whether to grant a three month closure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: \u201cOn Wednesday 9 May the Birmingham city centre police team served a closure notice on Cloud Nine Shisha Lounge, Gooch Street North in Birmingham city centre after customers were suspected to have been consuming apparent psychoactive substances within the premises.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cA 24-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of supplying the psychoactive substance of nitrous oxide has been released pending further investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cAn extension to the closure notice was permitted at Birmingham Magistrates Court last Thursday (10 May) and a final hearing is due to take place on Thursday 23 May to decide whether to grant a three month closure order against Cloud Nine Shisha Lounge.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>City centre Shisha lounge has temporarily been shut down by the police after customers were suspected to have been taking \u2018psychoactive substances.\u2019 A closure notice was served on the Cloud Nine Shisha Lounge, on Gooch Street North, on May 9, after illegal substances were allegedly being consumed on the premises.
