{"id":2638,"date":"2007-07-13T17:05:43","date_gmt":"2007-07-13T17:05:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2007\/07\/13\/changing-room-makeover-for-asian-support-group\/"},"modified":"2016-01-06T16:56:44","modified_gmt":"2016-01-06T16:56:44","slug":"changing-room-makeover-for-asian-support-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2007\/07\/13\/changing-room-makeover-for-asian-support-group\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Changing Room\u2019 makeover for Asian support group"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"186\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"232\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/Sandwell'ChangingRooms'.jpg\"\/>CHILDREN with disabilities at Sandwell Asian Family Support Service are enjoying spruced up surroundings after a &#8216;Changing Rooms&#8217;-style make-over.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Local firm Unifix were set a one-day deadline to completely redecorate a room at the service&#8217;s Smethwick centre. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>A team of 12 volunteers from the firm descended on the site at 9am to kit out the multi-purpose room with items donated by local organisations.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Now children, young people and their parents can enjoy new toys, DVD&#8217;s, a relaxation area and a new television.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>SAFSS Chief Executive Parpinder Dhatt said: &#8220;I can&#8217;t thank the Unifix staff enough for such fantastic support. Our children, young people and parents were very excited about the redecoration and the incredibly generous donations.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Mr Habib, whose son Aftab has been using the services at SAFSS for ten years, said:\u00a0&#8220;Aftab loves coming to the centre at SAFSS. As a parent it makes a big difference to know that organisations like Unifix are helping SAFSS to support parents of children with disabilities in Sandwell.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The room was in need of a complete revamp when Unifix stepped in.
