A Dudley takeaway that has had a has scoring a stomach-churning zero hygiene rating has been fined.<\/p>\n
Environmental health inspectors at Dudley Council found the Kings Takeaway in Brierley Hill, High Street all rusty, damaged and unclean equipment during a routine visit.<\/p>\n
The inspectors found floors, walls, ceilings, storage containers, microwaves and refrigerators were not kept clean and the equipment including a chopping board, frying baskets and refrigerators were damaged.<\/p>\n
There was also no soap or hand drying facilities provided at the filthy sinks and the workers in the takeaway were found to be wearing dirty non-protective clothing and not trained.<\/p>\n
The takeaway – which served kebabs, pizzas, fish and chips and more – stopped serving in July.<\/p>\n
Takeaway boss, Amir Rizwan has now been landed with a \u00a33,280 court bill for the string of hygiene failings.<\/p>\n
The 38-year-old owner pleaded guilty to nine offences under food hygiene regulations at Wolverhampton magistrates court on April 5.<\/p>\n
Martin Samuels, strategic director for people services at Dudley Council, said: \u201cWhilst we prefer to work with businesses to make sure they comply with the law, we will not hesitate to take legal action against those who don’t.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe vast majority of food outlets in the borough achieve a satisfactory hygiene rating of 3 or more.<\/p>\n
“I would urge consumers to check out hygiene ratings online as these will give them a glimpse of what is going on in the kitchen when they eat out, or behind the scenes at the places they shop,” Martin Samuels added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
