The newspaper said his details had been passed to the authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">In her letter, the woman said: \u201cHe is a very dangerous man, taking money and telling families they must cut ties with each other.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cHe has caused destruction in families in Leicester and Birmingham.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cMany will not come forward because they are embarrassed that he has given them false hope.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cHe comes across very sweet<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;Anything that is happening in my life is because of \u2018black magic\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cIt\u2019s lucky I have come out of his trap.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;My family has cut ties with me. He has a stronghold on them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The woman has not disclosed how much money she or her family had given to the crook<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The man\u2019s methods are similar to those of con artists highlighted by Leicestershire Police and trading standards officials at Leicester City Council on several occasions in the past few years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The so-called &#8216;healers&#8217; claim to be able to lift curses, ensure success in business and cure illnesses from cancer to depression. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The woman\u2019s letter and a photograph of the suspect has been passed on to trading standards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">They have investigated her report, but are not aware of any complaints relating to his conduct.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">A city council spokeswoman said: \u201cThat doesn\u2019t mean he hasn\u2019t been active in Leicester.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">&#8220;It\u2019s just that the people who tend to fall victim to these individuals are often ashamed to admit they\u2019ve been duped or they\u2019re reluctant to come forward with hard evidence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cWe suspect that these \u2018healers\u2019 are prevalent in certain communities, preying on people\u2019s beliefs and superstitions and targeting those who may be ill or vulnerable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201cOur advice would be to never give money to them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Leicester City Council\u2019s trading standards monitors leaflets and business cards that are circulated n the city, as well as adverts in some foreign language papers.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A &#8216;dangerous&#8217; faith healer is destroying families in Birmingham by telling relatives to cut ties with each other, it has been claimed.
