A CCTV from a Spend ‘n’ Save store in Walsall shows how a brave shopkeeper tackled a gun-toting robber<\/p>\n
The masked gunman holds a gun to a female assistant and the shop manager bursts into action and wrestles the robber.<\/p>\n
They start scuffling and the shopkeeper grabs the robber around the head and arms along with the help of the female assistant and bundled him out of the shop.<\/p>\n
The incident happened at the store on Pleck Road in Walsall just, before\u00a07pm\u00a0on Christmas Eve.<\/p>\n
Police have released the shocking CCTV of the incident are appealing for anyone with information and passing drivers to get in touch.<\/p>\n
DC Gerry Maley, from Force CID, said: \u201cAs the footage shows the store\u2019s owner and his assistant managed to overpower the assailant and wrestle him out of the shop in a matter of seconds.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know the struggle continued outside and believe a number of passing vehicles slowed down and perhaps even stopped to witness the scuffle – I am urging these people to get in touch.\u201d<\/p>\n
The raider, who is said to have fled in the direction of Wednesbury Road, has been described as 6ft 2ins tall and slim. He was wearing a grey tracksuit and a mask to conceal his identity.<\/p>\n
DC Maley added: \u201cAlthough the description is limited, it\u2019s likely the individual is from the local area and someone will know exactly who is responsible.<\/p>\n
