The crackdown by the police has been active in a two day operation at the homes of drug dealers operating in Alum Rock and\u00a0Bordesley Green.<\/p>\n
Drugs warrants were executed by the Bordesley Green police team across ten properties in the neighbourhood – further raids are being planned.<\/p>\n
The raids have cut off supply and demand for drugs in the area.<\/p>\n
The crackdown has seen raids carried out at homes in the following roads: Essedon Road, Denville Crescent, Sunnymede Road, Reigate Avenue, Fernhurst Road, Bordesley Green Road East and Brookmeadow Road.<\/p>\n
Sergeant Hanif Ullah who is leading the crackdown, said: \u201cThere is no question that drugs harm communities. Crimes like burglary, theft and robbery are often carried out to fund crippling drug addictions.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is vital we break this chain of drugs supply not only to prevent crime, but to protect the most vulnerable in our society from further harm.”<\/p>\n
Sgt. Ullah also praised residents within the local area – who were instrumental in providing the information which led to all ten of the warrants.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cI\u2019d personally like to encourage our communities to keep talking to us.<\/p>\n
“This week has been hugely successful and it is testament to the relationship we have with local residents – if they hadn\u2019t raised concerns with us, none of this would have happened.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope this demonstrates to the people of Alum Rock and Bordesley Green that we are here, we are listening and we are determined to make a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n
