{"id":25013,"date":"2017-12-05T11:41:13","date_gmt":"2017-12-05T11:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=25013"},"modified":"2017-12-05T13:09:59","modified_gmt":"2017-12-05T13:09:59","slug":"mcdonald-apologises-muslim-woman-denied-entering-store-off-hijab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2017\/12\/05\/mcdonald-apologises-muslim-woman-denied-entering-store-off-hijab\/","title":{"rendered":"McDonalds apologises After Muslim Woman Denied entering store because of her Hijab"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Muslim woman who was allegedly told she could not enter one of the fast-food chain outlet on Seven Sister\u2019s Road in London while wearing a hijab has had an apology from McDonalds.<\/p>\n<p>In footage recorded by the woman, who has decided to remain anonymous, she can be heard asking a worker why she can\u2019t enter the restaurant<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy can\u2019t I come into McDonalds?\u201d she asks. \u201cIs it because I\u2019m wearing a hijab? I\u2019m sorry, but can you like please say it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s just a matter of taking it off, then&#8230;\u201d the man in the video replies, gesturing to his head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not just a matter of taking it off, I wear this for religious reasons and I\u2019m not ashamed of it,\u201d the woman hits back.<\/p>\n<p>She continues: \u201cThis is actually like a hate crime, this is a hate crime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another customer then intervenes, telling the man &#8211; thought to be a security guard &#8211; that he cannot stop the woman from entering the store.<\/p>\n<p>She then leaves the store without ordering any food, saying she\u2019s \u201cpretty full to the head right now\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen she started recording the incident, she was told to stop but thankfully didn\u2019t. Thank you to the kind man who defended her against the security guard and employees at the store&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She continued: \u201cWe will be contacting the relevant authorities to ensure this is dealt with.
