{"id":2489,"date":"2007-02-27T14:46:04","date_gmt":"2007-02-27T14:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2007\/02\/27\/cctv-clues-in-brum-shopkeeper-murder\/"},"modified":"2016-01-06T16:47:15","modified_gmt":"2016-01-06T16:47:15","slug":"cctv-clues-in-brum-shopkeeper-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2007\/02\/27\/cctv-clues-in-brum-shopkeeper-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"CCTV clues in Brum Shopkeeper murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"306\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"180\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/Basharat'CCTV'.jpg\"\/>POLICE investigating the murder of a Birmingham shopkeeper who was shot dead at his grocery store have released CCTV images of four men they are trying to trace.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The images have been taken from the Supermalt Afro-Caribbean grocery store owned and run by 24-year-old Mohammed Basharat. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The father of two was gunned down in cold blood during a week of violence in the Aston and Lozells area of Birmingham in November last year. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Two men were seen running away from the shop moments after Mr Basharat was shot. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Detectives are still struggling to find a motive for the shooting and are hoping to trace the men who were captured by shop CCTV cameras a month before the killing. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>A spokesperson said: &#8220;Officers are keen to trace the following persons as they may contain crucial information to assist with the enquiry.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Mr Basharat had only owned the store for five months before his murder. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>His family were hit with tragedy three years earlier when\u00a0Mr Basharat&#8217;s brother Mohammed Sabir was gunned down in Lozells Road.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Mr Basharat&#8217;s cousin Tariq Rashid described him as \u201crespected family man\u201d and \u201cloving husband and father\u201d.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cMohammed Basharat was a respected family man, loving husband and father of young children.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cHe was a young entrepreneur who dedicated his life to running a business. He started at 4 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"213\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"180\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/MohammedBasharat'murder'.jpg\"\/>in the morning, often not finishing until 10 at night, while also doing a college course in motor mechanics.
