A second passenger, also 17, was in a serious condition in hospital after the crash, which occurred on\u00a0Church Road, Yardley, near the Swan shopping centre, at around 4.15pm on Thursday.<\/p>\n
A 17-year-old was arrested near the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n
The lorry driver was taken to hospital but was later discharged. The police watchdog has launched an investigation.<\/p>\n
Friends expressed their sorrow at the death of Isam on social media.<\/p>\n
Usman Ali said, \u201cRIP my bro, I can\u2019t believe it. Life is too short. RIP soldier, RIP Isam.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another friend wrote, \u201cRIP Isam. The good die young.\u201d<\/p>\n
Elayna Blake sent her best wishes to the teenager\u2019s family saying, \u201cGod bless your family Isam. It\u2019s like every other day I know somebody has passed.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cRIP Isam, you were a good kid! You\u2019re in a better place now,\u201d said Josh Tilley.<\/p>\n
Wayne Platt wrote, \u201cSorry for the family who have lost someone dear to them.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement, West Midlands Police\u00a0said, \u201cA teenager has died following a collision in Church Road, Yardley yesterday (26 October). \u201cThe 17-year-old was a passenger in a car that had failed to stop for police and was involved in a collision with a lorry at around 4.15pm.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe teenage boy sadly died at the scene and a further 17-year old passenger was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.<\/p>\n
Independent Police Complaints Commission operations manager Rashpal Pahal said, \u201cOur sympathies are with the family of the teenager who died and everyone else affected by this tragic incident.<\/p>\n
