{"id":24449,"date":"2017-10-17T11:54:12","date_gmt":"2017-10-17T10:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=24449"},"modified":"2017-10-17T11:54:12","modified_gmt":"2017-10-17T10:54:12","slug":"tributes-paid-woman-killed-washwood-heath-stabbing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2017\/10\/17\/tributes-paid-woman-killed-washwood-heath-stabbing\/","title":{"rendered":"Tributes Paid To Woman Killed In Washwood Heath Stabbing"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Neighbours have paid tribute to a woman who was\u00a0stabbed to death\u00a0in her own home.<\/h2>\n<p>Shaeen Ahktar was fatally knifed in\u00a0Wright Road, Washwood Heath\u00a0, just before 4pm on Sunday, October 15.<\/p>\n<p>Her husband, Parvez Akthar, 46, is due at Birmingham Magistrates\u2019 Court on Tuesday accused of killing her.<\/p>\n<p>In a family statement, her five devastated children paid tribute to their \u201camazing, caring and beloved\u201d mother.<\/p>\n<p>They said, \u201cAll we ask in this difficult time is for your prayers, and for you to respect our privacy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this tribute we would like to say to our mother: \u2018We hope you are in a better place, looking down on us and nodding your head in approval.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to tell you and the world, you will always be in our hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Neighbour Sobia Noreen said Shaeen was like a \u201csister\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She said, \u201cShe was so loving and caring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019d always be in each other\u2019s house and looking after each other\u2019s kids.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t believe she\u2019s gone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sobia\u2019s daughter, Subah, also paid tribute to the v49-year-old victim, who she called \u201cauntie\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The 17-year-old said, \u201cWe\u2019ve known her our whole lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI grew up with her and she was like my second mother.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we heard screaming we just assumed the kids were fighting &#8211; we didn\u2019t know it was auntie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t believe auntie is gone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another neighbour said, \u201cShe didn\u2019t say anything \u2013 she\u2019d just mind her own business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re all in shock, I only saw her two days ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was a normal lady, nothing rowdy about the family or anything. It\u2019s such a shame.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Detectives said \u201ca lot\u201d of people arrived at the family home following the tragedy and police needed to speak to anyone who had not been interviewed.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency services were called to the scene but nothing could be done to save Shaeen and she died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Police cordoned off the area on Sunday.
