{"id":2388,"date":"2006-11-15T17:52:12","date_gmt":"2006-11-15T17:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2006\/11\/15\/man-innocent-victim-of-revenge-attack\/"},"modified":"2016-01-06T16:43:36","modified_gmt":"2016-01-06T16:43:36","slug":"man-innocent-victim-of-revenge-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2006\/11\/15\/man-innocent-victim-of-revenge-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"Man \u2018innocent victim of revenge attack\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<div><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"250\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"161\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/AndrewBrownLozells.jpg\"\/>THE FATHER of a man shot dead in Birmingham has urged the community not to take matters into their own hands in retaliation for his murder.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Meshack Tesfa Bernard was celebrating his 20<sup>th<\/sup> birthday when he was shot in the Newtown area on Monday evening. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Detectives for West Midlands Police believe he was the innocent victim of a revenge attack and are linking his murder with two other stabbings which took place earlier the same day. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>About half an hour before the fatal shooting of Mr Bernard two Asian men were attacked, one with a machete and the other was stabbed in the groin. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Appealing for information that could lead to his son\u2019s killers, <span>Meshack Tesfa\u2019s father Andrew Brown urged the community not to take matters into their own hands. <\/span><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cMy son has been murdered and this callous act of revenge and lynch mobbing has got to stop\u201d, he said. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cI want people out there to know that we do not want retribution or revenge for my son\u2019s death. All we want is the truth\u201d.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Mr Brown described his son as a \u201cloving\u201d man with ambitions to become a football coach. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cMy son was always loving and always embraced his friends with a sincere hug of love. \u201cEveryone loved him. He was ambitious; he wanted to be a football coach. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>He said his family wanted justice for Meshack\u2019s murder. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cThese people took my son away from me and his family and all for the sake of revenge. I don\u2019t want people taking things into their own hands in revenge for my son .All I want for my son is justice.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Breaking down in tears, Mr Brown added: \u201cThis has got to stop\u201d.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"250\" hspace=\"10\" width=\"161\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"3\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/Image\/ArticleImages\/MeshackTesfaBernard.jpg\"\/>Det Supt Mike Treble, who is heading the investigation, said a group of individuals had gone to Melbourne Rd looking to seek revenge for the earlier stabbing incidents. \u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cMeshack was out that evening full of joy looking to celebrate his birthday.
