{"id":23860,"date":"2017-08-31T17:36:29","date_gmt":"2017-08-31T16:36:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/?p=23860"},"modified":"2017-08-31T17:36:29","modified_gmt":"2017-08-31T16:36:29","slug":"alton-towers-warn-customers-fake-ticket-scam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2017\/08\/31\/alton-towers-warn-customers-fake-ticket-scam\/","title":{"rendered":"Alton Towers Warn Customers Of Fake Ticket Scam"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Theme park resort Alton Towers is urgently warning customers to be aware of a bogus website claiming to offer discounted tickets.<\/h2>\n<p>Reportedly, thousands of people have already fallen victim to the social media scam.<\/p>\n<p>On the fake website, called \u201cukgroupdeals\u201d, customers can purchase tickets and are even being offered limited time deal for a park ticket and \u201cfast-track\u201d combination which can be bought at \u00a321.20 \u2013 which is a 60% discount from the park\u2019s regular prices.<\/p>\n<p>The website claims over two-thousand people have purchased tickets through it and that the tickets are \u201cVALID FOR GATE ADMINSSION ONLY, NO HOTEL INCLUDE\u201d (Sic).<\/p>\n<p>The Staffordshire theme park has taken to social media to warn visitors of the fake website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re aware of this scam circulating the web on \u2018ukgroupdeals\u2019. This is NOT official or affiliated with Alton Towers Resort in any way,\u201d they said on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Alton Towers say they are taking action to remove the website which is only a month old, and has IP address based in the US despite claiming to have a London address.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Theme park resort Alton Towers is urgently warning customers to be aware of a bogus website claiming to offer discounted tickets.
