The programme, which broadcasts this Thursday on the Community Channel, aims to inspire people from black and Asian minority groups to join the bone marrow register in order to find a match that can help save lives.\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The film introduces us to Asma Meer (<em>pictured right)<\/em>, who lost her three-month son Ibrahim because they couldn\u2019t find a match for a bone marrow transplant. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Asma is now a dedicated campaigner, raising awareness and trying to recruit more donors onto the bone marrow register.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Made in association with the Anthony Nolan Trust and African Caribbean Leukemia Trust, Saving a Stranger is narrated by Radio 1 DJ Trevor Nelson, who has a personal interest in this subject.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div><em>Saving a Stranger &#8211; Thursday, October 19<sup>th<\/sup> at 9pm (repeated Sunday, October 22<sup>nd<\/sup> at 10pm)<\/em><\/div>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new television documentary will appeal to Asian and Black minority groups to save lives by joining the bone marrow register. &#13; \u2018Saving a Stranger\u2019 highlights the suffering of the thousands of people waiting for bone marrow transplants in the UK.
