{"id":2337,"date":"2006-10-10T14:40:35","date_gmt":"2006-10-10T14:40:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2006\/10\/10\/new-cartoon-scandal-hits-denmark\/"},"modified":"2016-01-06T16:41:36","modified_gmt":"2016-01-06T16:41:36","slug":"new-cartoon-scandal-hits-denmark","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2006\/10\/10\/new-cartoon-scandal-hits-denmark\/","title":{"rendered":"New cartoon scandal hits Denmark"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<div><strong>Denmark has become embroiled in a new cartoon scandal after a television channel aired a video showing youth groups ridiculing the Prophet Muhammad.<\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The country was at the centre of violent protests last years that escalated across the world after Danish daily Jyllands-Posten published cartoons of the prophet. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The protests led to the deaths of more than 50 people in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>World Muslim organizations called the latest incident evidence of \u201cshrinking tolerance in the west\u201d, the Guardian newspaper has reported. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>In this new scandal, a Danish television channel broadcast portions of a video originally posted on the internet showing a group of youths affiliated to the anti-immigrant Danish Peoples&#8217; party (DPP) presenting cartoons of the prophet.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Seen drinking alcohol two members of the group show cartoons to the camera.
