{"id":2304,"date":"2006-09-15T16:39:33","date_gmt":"2006-09-15T16:39:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tat.reddaisytrading.co.uk\/index.php\/2006\/09\/15\/muslim-woman-wins-case-against-mosque\/"},"modified":"2016-01-06T16:37:16","modified_gmt":"2016-01-06T16:37:16","slug":"muslim-woman-wins-case-against-mosque","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/2006\/09\/15\/muslim-woman-wins-case-against-mosque\/","title":{"rendered":"Muslim woman wins case against Mosque"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<div><strong>A Muslim secretary who was accused of fraud, black magic and bullying by one of Britain\u2019s leading Mosques has been awarded \u00a334,000 at an employment tribunal.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Nahid Mahmoud was forced to endure an 18-month campaign at the Islamic Cultural centre and Central Mosque in London\u2019s Regent Park in which she was accused by a senior member of <span>fraud, black magic, bullying, using dirty words and \u201cwasting valuable office hours in idle conversation\u201d, the Times newspaper reports. <\/span><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>The tribunal heard how the \u201cspiteful\u201d treatment of Nahid Mahmoud, who worked as a secretary to the Mosque\u2019s director-general Ahmed al-Dubayan, by Younes Teinaz, head of administration and human resources at the mosque, amounted to an \u201cexploitation of the weakness of women in Islamic culture\u201d. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Dr Teinaz began his campaign against Mrs Mahmoud after she refused him access to the Mosque noticeboard, the tribunal heard.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>She had been instructed by <span>Dr al-Dubayan not to release the key to anyone, but shortly after the refusal Dr Teinaz began his \u201cspiteful and targeted\u201d campaign. <\/span><\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>During his campaign he wrote to Dr al-Dubayan complaining that Mrs Mahmoud had breached office regulations by taking time off when her aunt died. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>She was accused of making a rape allegation against another member of staff and instructed a worker at the mosque to file a complaint of sexual harassment against her after she made a comment about his eyes. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>He also falsely reported her to the police for arranging the marriage of a woman who was already married and admitted searching through her desk to look for \u201cevidence\u201d to back up his claims. <\/div>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<div>Sheikh Anwar Mady, deputy director-general of the mosque, said the behaviour of Dr Teinaz \u201camounted to an exploitation of the weakness of women in Islamic culture\u201d.<\/div>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Muslim secretary who was accused of fraud, black magic and bullying by one of Britain\u2019s leading Mosques has been awarded \u00a334,000 at an employment tribunal. &#13; Nahid Mahmoud was forced to endure an 18-month campaign at the Islamic Cultural centre and Central Mosque in London\u2019s Regent Park in which she was accused by a [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":11753,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2304","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2304","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2304"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2304\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/11753"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2304"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=2304"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.theasiantoday.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=2304"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
